Say Goodnight, Dick
Phyllis Diller, Kirk Dougls, Lorne Greene, Andy Griffith, Charleston Heston, Bob Hope, Don Knotts, Mike Landon, Dean Martin, Barbara McNair, George Peppard and Young Americans, singing Yankee Doodle Dandy, encourage public to buy US Savings Bonds. Provided by Jeff Krulik Archival Services. Now that I think about it, this was likely made just before ‘Rowan and Martin’s Laugh- In’ hit the TV airwaves. More details after some research at NARA this week. Thanks. JUST IN–an IMDB entry …

forever goodnight dick…thanks for making me laff as a kid
Seems unlikely to have been made prior to Laugh-in seeing as how there is a “sock it to me” at 2:50.
You can also hear part of the laugh-in theme during Herb Alpert’s entrance.
Barbara McNair was just absolutely stunning at 7:30 or so. WOW. Thank you so much for this gem of a clip. RIP Dick Martin . . . Barbara too!
goodnight dick
Thanks for Sockin’ it to Us Dick. Rowan&Martin RIP.
What was the deal with the Young Americans?
The Young Americans…I believe they turned up on one of Bing’s Christmas specials and showed up as window dressing, so to speak-wholesome, well-behaved kids who happened to sing.
Yeah, guys, where can I buy bonds? We got a war to support…
And Dan didn’t have the ’stache until at least season 2.
*sigh*
Goodnight, Dick.
Thanks for the memories. *teardrop*
