Rising Cost of Gas and Food
Everyday, we hear of people who are hurt by the state of the economy. Gas price has come down slightly from a few weeks ago but it is still very high and people are still struggling to afford the high price of gas as well as the rising cost of food and other items. We interviewed some folks who are affected by the rising cost of gas and food. We will break our interview into small posts so that we can pay attention to each person we interview one at a time.
How is the high gas price and food price inflation affecting you?
“Gas prices are so high that we have to lump all our errands into one trip, we also are not able to visit our children and grandchild who live about 250 miles from us very often. This is the worst part of the price of gas for me, he is the only grandchild I have and I feel like I am missing out on a lot of his life.
The price of food keeps going up and up, we are on a limited income and it is hard to keep up with the prices in the store. We have had to cut a lot of dairy products out of our diet, they seem to be what is raising the fastest.”
Thank you for sharing this story. As you can see, the high gas price is not just affecting people’s wallets or their finances, it actually affect people’s lives in so many ways. Not being able to go to see your loved ones make life not worth living.

Gas Price is Too High
Gas seems to be staying expensive. Now, driving is a concern. Right now, gas and many other products are expensive and possibly could get even more expensive. The slow economy has driven prices up exponentially for both gas and other products. As a result, people have to change their lifestyles and think twice about how, when, and where to spend their money.
Gas is the worst of all
This is especially true with regard to gas, which people used to purchase without thinking too much about it. Now people have to consider how much driving they truly need to do to accomplish everyday tasks and try to economize their driving trips wherever possible.
If you watch the news or read it online, you will hear of many stories about how the high gas price is affecting people on a world wide scale. Not only in the US, but in most places in the world. On http://www.usatoday.com there was an interesting story about how the high gas price is affecting a community, hitting rural Americans particularly hard. The article is called “High gas prices threaten to shut down rural towns”.
